Back from Ithaca, what a great weekend. More very soon!
This sad news, in from Madison, about violinist Vartan Manoogian, 1936-2007. Read about him here and here. The biggest connection we have is that my mentor David Perry followed Vartan as 1st Violinist of the Pro Arte Quartet. I also have a couple of recordings of the older version of the quartet with Vartan, and am going to look into getting his recent Bach Sonatas & Partitas disc.
